Finnish Dance Information Centre was founded in 1980. Its main task is to produce and provide information on dance in Finland and to promote international co-operation in the field. The Helsinki Dance Company is the only Finnish dance company that functions as a part of a professional institutional theatre. With 10 permanent dancers, it is also the largest Finnish contemporary dance group. On my way to the Helsinki-Vantaa airport as I was heading towards Paris a Scottish taxi driver gave me a lesson on his views about dance. Dance Theatre Minimi is a professional dance theatre based in Kuopio, Finland. We perform in Finland and abroad, on tours and on our local stage, in schools and on the street. We perform on average 120 times a year. - [Read more]

Nomadi Productions is one of the most successful, vital and growing production companies in the field of the contemporary dance in Finland. It was founded by four Finnish dance artists, Alpo Aaltokoski, Jyrki Karttunen, Arja Raatikainen and Katri Soini, in 1996. It was awarded the Finnish State Prize for Dance in 1999. - [Read more]

Rimpparemmi started its activities back in 1974 in the Municipality of Tervola. In 1986, Rimpparemmi became the folk dance group of the Province of Lapland with its registered office in the town of Rovaniemi. From 1991, the group has operated as a full time dance group operating during the summertime. - [Read more]

Since autumn 2002 Rollo's home venue has been Alppisali in the Helsinki Hall of Culture. There is a 100 seat auditorium, and the high lobby is suitable for small exhibitions. Stanislav Belyaevsky was born in Leningrad (St.Petersburg) 1973. In 1983, he was admitted to Leningrad Vaganova Academic Choreographic School (Vaganova Academy) where his young talent began to shine. - [Read more]

Dancer-choreographer Tero Saarinen (born 1964) began his career as a dancer at the Finnish National Ballet in 1985, where he soon attracted attention as a soloist. Despite his success, he left the ballet in 1992 to search for new influences from contemporary dance from Western Europe and Japan, where he studied traditional Japanese dance and Butoh from 1992 to 1993. - [Read more]

TThe TOTEM Theatre was founded in 1986. It is one of the three professional theatres in Espoo focusing on children’s theatre. The TOTEM Theatre is a professional travelling theatre. Choreographer and dancer Tommi Kitti is one of Finland’s leading contemporary dance artists. In a career spanning three decades, he has danced with, among others, the Cullberg Ballet, the Helsinki City Theatre, Raatikko Dance Company and the Finnish National Ballet.
