The Company was founded in 1993 by Sharon McCormick. Previous ballet productions had been well received by the community, and she felt that the time was right for the formation of a non-profit organization to encourage and support development of the art. Chico Community Ballet is a ballet company based in Chico, California, for serious dancers between eight and twenty-five years of age. The divisions of Chico Community Ballet include the Senior and Apprentice Companies, and may include a Junior Company and Pre-Company as needed.
